Growing up in a conservative home, characterized by traditional values, the path in life seems to be mapped out early on: complete a solid education, pursue a traditional career, start a family, serve the performance society. Hard work, order, security and stability are the foundations of his origins; recognition can be received almost exclusively through performance. In the best sense: a traditional lifestyle. He fulfills this and initially ignores the quiet call that lures him into the wide world and into freedom. Until one day in 2004 he decided to break out of his preordained life and go on a world tour on his motorcycle.
After a year he returns to Germany. He resumes his old life - and yet something is completely different. Enriched by many experiences, adventures and insights, he now plans time out not only in his challenging everyday job. As a sabbatical and time-out consultant, he advises people. The old wisdom that the journey is the destination has dominated Joachim von Loeben's path ever since.
